DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the Full/Associate/Assistant Professor level in Biostatistics. Candidates are required to have a PhD in Biostatistics or in Statistics with Life Science applications. Starting date is September 1, 2008.

Candidates are expected to be active scholars, pursue research that will allow the generation of competitive grant proposals, and have a strong commitment to quality teaching in a broad range of courses at the undergraduate to graduate level. It is also expected that the successful candidate will be actively involved in the Margaret and Herman Sokol Institute for Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, and in transdisciplinary activities and programs in the College of Science and Mathematics and the university.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montclair State University includes undergraduate programs in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Physics; Master’s programs in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Statistics; and an EdD in Mathematics Pedagogy. There are twenty-nine full-time faculty in the department. Montclair State University is the second largest public university in New Jersey and is located 15 miles west of New York City in close proximity to major pharmaceutical, financial, and research centers.
